The events in Japan in the last week have shaken people across the world. It has also raised serious questions over the safety of Nuclear power. We wish to send our heartfelt condolences to the people of Japan and in particular the people of Fukushima who continue to face the consequences of not only the earthquake and tsunami but also the growing nuclear emergency. We, here at home, want to see Reigate and Banstead Borough Council to join the other 70 local authorities in the UK by committing to become a ‘nuclear free local authority’ (see www.nuclearpolicy.info for more details)
